Blockchain-based resource allocation techniques in IoT

As an emerging decentralized secure data management platform, blockchain has gained much popularity recently. To maintain a canonical state of a blockchain data record, proof-of-work-based consensus protocols provide the
nodes, referred to as miners, in the network with incentives for confirming new block of transactions through a
process of “block mining” by solving a cryptographic puzzle. Under the circumstance of limited local computing
resources, e.g., mobile devices, it is natural for rational miners,i.e., consensus nodes, to offload computational tasks
for proof of work to the cloud/fog computing servers. In addition, blockchain technology is emerging to support highly secured performance computing. To improve privacy and security factors of allocating, storage, and managing resources in edge computing, blockchain technology can be used to guarantee safe data transmission and
communications in the Internet of Things (IoT). Due to the heterogeneity of resources to cover a range number of IoT applications, resource allocation has a key role in increasing the performance of the IoT systems in edge computing. Therefore, to detect and analyze technical aspects and new research directions in this issue, this paper reviews different existing blockchain-based resource allocation models in cloud-edge computing and IoT environments. From the review papers, we had a very high rate of relevant publishes from 2018 to 2022. The introduced approaches in reviewed papers are compared using some known measures such as time, latency, cost, service spread storage, and delay. The review aims to classify the principles and technical aspects of blockchain-based resource allocation in cloud-edge computing in IoT applications.

Load-balancing tecniques using in Cloud Computing

Cloud Computing is a modern paradigm to provide services through the Internet. Load balancing is a key aspect of cloud computing and avoids the situation in which some nodes become overloaded while the others are idle or have little work to do. Load balancing can improve the Quality of Service (QoS) metrics, including response time, cost, throughput, performance, and resource utilization.

In this paper, we study the literature on task scheduling and load-balancing algorithms and present a new classification of such algorithms, for example, Hadoop MapReduce load balancing category, Natural Phenomena-based load balancing category, Agent-based load balancing category, General load balancing category, application-oriented category, network-aware category, and workflow specific category. Furthermore, we provide a review in each of these seven categories. Also. We provide insights into the identification of open issues and guidelines for future research.
